100 Books to Read Before Kindergarten

Our new 100 Books Before Kindergarten program will begin in 2021. This is a self-guided reading program that encourages early literacy and promotes shared reading time between caregivers and children.  Reading out loud to your child is a great way to build their vocabulary.  Rediscover classics, explore something new, and read what you love! Keep track of your reading in the reading log we provide and when your child reaches 100, they will receive a special certificate!

Did you know if you read just one book a night with your child you will reach 1000 books before your child starts school!

StoryWalk

This summer when you visit the library you will be able to enjoy our new StoryWalk. We are bringing the library outdoors and have chosen a wonderful story both children and adults will be sure to enjoy! Laminated pages from this children's book are attached to stakes, which are installed along our outdoor path. As you stroll along, you're directed to the next page in the story.

When visiting be sure to tag us on social media and share pictures and videos of your outdoor fun with your community. Be sure to drop by the library and enjoy this new adventure!

Please remember to follow public health guidelines, including physically distancing at least six feet (two meters) from others, wearing a mask or face covering if distancing cannot be maintained.
