 Accessibility Policy for Website

The launch of our new website in August 2013 is a part of our commitment to the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA), 2005.

By Jan. 1, 2014 all website content documents and tools must be in compliance with the AODA standard WCAG 2.0 Level A other than criteria 1.2.4 (captions) and 1.2.5 (pre-recorded audio description) – the North Kawartha Public Library will be WCAG Level AA which is the 2021 requirement.

The North Kawartha Public Library is diligently working on accessible document format.

Documents (PDF, Microsoft Word, Microsoft PowerPoint) dated Jan. 1, 2012 or later will be posted to the website as AODA compliant. The AODA requirement requires that all documents on the website be AODA compliant by Jan. 1, 2014.

Historical Documents (PDF, Scans, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Powerpoint) dated prior to Dec. 31, 2011 - Every effort will be made to make the document available and AODA compliant. In the event a document provided on the website contains elements that are inaccessible, an alternative method will be provided by contacting the North Kawartha Public Library, Apsley branch at 705-656-4333.
