The library charges fines to encourage the prompt return of materials so that all customers may share equally in their use. Overdue charges are $ .20 cents per day for books, magazines or audiocassettes and $1.00 per day for DVDs. The maximum fine per item is $7.00. Payment is by cash or cheque only.
No renewals, loans or internet use will be permitted until outstanding fines are paid in full.
An amnesty (fine-free) period will be held in December. Return your overdue library items December 2nd to 20th and we will waive $2.00 from the amount of fines owing for each non-perishable food item donated. This includes outstanding fines, but does not include replacement charges for lost or damaged items. Food collected will be donated to the North Kawartha Food Bank.

Lost or Damaged Items
Customers are responsible for all materials checked out on their card and are liable for any damages that may occur to library materials. If library materials are lost or returned damaged you will be charged the retail replacement value of the item. A receipt will be issued for this amount. If the item is also overdue, the fine must be paid as well.
